SO - I am in Rotary. Specifically the Davis Sunrise Rotary Club, California. We meet every week at 7am on Fridays and many people work and go off to work after our 1-hour meeting. We sing a couple of songs. We have breakfast. We give happy bucks (stuff we are happy about our lives), we have announcements, Sargents call out members for what they have done publicly (pictures in newspapers, new big purchases, stuff done to be noted... etc). We listen to a speaker who tells us interesting things... AND as a group our purpose is to DO SERVICE.
We have a four way test:
- Is it the truth?
- Is it fair to all concerned?
- Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
- Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
This year, somehow, I have become chair of the Youth Services Committee and I hope after a while the various youth groups and services will be energized!
