So -- when was Day One of this crisis and where? China apparently was the place and the earliest cases may have been in late 2019. Certainly in January, 2020 things were happening.
Today more talk out of the White House. Yesterday the stock market essentially crashed and today it is slightly bouncing (Dow dropped just short of 3,000 and now, 10:37am PT - it is up 384).
The country is on shut down in many, many ways. I am 70 years old and I am not going into public spaces and I am doing all the hand-washing I can. I will take a long walk today, weather permitting. I will also try to do more stretching than usual as that is a good thing and easier then doing muscle work (I don't have weights, etc... though in future days I will try push-ups, etc.. - I DO like working out!!!).
There is a lot of economic pain out there!!! Terrible.... I don't know if the powers that be will get this well fixed for PEOPLE! I posted an idea on Facebook and here is what I said:
"An Idea... (what do I know about the economic system?) --- WHAT IF.... All debts and payments were put forward for one or two months? In other words... without even an increase in accrued interest... All credit card and mortgages and rents and car payments needing to be paid this month did not have to be paid until next month? Or two months out if things continue? Banks and landlords and stores would not earn interest or be able to make their payments (landlords would not have to pay on their loans and also taxes)... and much profit - by banks would not be made... BUT - everyone would eventually pay back the principal and un-extra-accrued interest.. when things get set right. It would be as if, for example, the months of April and May didn't happen !!! ... This would help a lot of people though not all. There are those who can't CHARGE things like food to credit cards and something would need to be done for them... BUT COULD SOMETHING LIKE THIS WORK?"
I really don't know if/how this could work. Seems to me possible. Time is time... and we have to get through these times.
Can't we change the calendar...???
