Solidarity amongst like thinking/feeling people is long often sought so as to effect change. This has not worked and does not work.... ONLY a homogenous grouping of people around a very few issues can bring about a force for change. Grand Coalitions do not work... Too many animosities need to be forgotten and ignored with the result being a very loose, at best, grouping of people who as soon as they have success in the MacroWorld (i.e. national political success) fall out locally with the later result that the macro success is destroyed by micro successes. Or Excesses!
Today I am reading an article about the anti-Zionism of the Bund while also reading in the news about the boycott of Israeli products in the Park Slope Brooklyn neighborhood. At least for Jews -- we are outsiders and our interests and needs are to be shunned... that's the message. Israel should lay down its defensive arms while offensive arms and ways are tolerated for the "palestinians". There is no balance and no fairness and no compassionate understanding and it is the Jewish State that is wrong - no matter what it does, doesn't do, tries, etc..
IF there was an attempt to be fair and balanced and understanding -- maybe there could be peace. Without acceptance of Israel and Jews in the Middle East and in the World ... defense and offense by protectors of Judaism and historical ties to the Land of Israel will be what we need to do!!! No one does it for us. We do get help sometimes but truly counting on outside help to come in a timely way is not a viable (living) option. Each of us and all groups as such stand alone ultimately. READ THIS.... and consider its truths.
